The EU-funded Equal-Life project is wrapping up in 2025, join us during the end event in Amsterdam.
Equal-Life studies the relationship between the totality of exposures - called ‘the exposome’ - children are subjected to at different developmental stages and the effect this has on their mental health and cognitive development later on in life. Equal-Life links data on external (physical, social) and internal exposures to mental health and cognitive data. Understanding how exposures impact children’s mental health and cognitive development is crucial to develop healthy and supportive environments for all children.
About the event
During the final event, the Equal-life team will present the key outcomes of the project and a toolbox designed for people to use in practice. Keynote presentations will be given by Professor Gary Evans (Cornell University, Ithaca, USA) and Professor Piotr Toczyski (Maria Grzegorzewska University, Warsaw, Poland); they will reflect on the outcomes of Equal-Life from a scientific and the prevention perspective (health and planning oriented), respectively. Panel discussions chaired by Dr Fred Woudenberg (Municipal Health Service Amsterdam, Netherlands) will further dive into the science-policy debate and the value and pitfalls of the exposome approach in this.
This day is specifically tailored for people that work on promoting healthier living environments, mental health, children's development and related fields in practice. We hope to engage with you on 8 April to further extend the impact of our work. Join us in Amsterdam for an inspiring day about the exposome, its impact on mental health and cognitive development, and to exchange perspectives with researchers and experts from our consortium and other European stakeholders.
